Plenty being caught in Clogherhead off the pier. However, good skill and a big reel required to avoid the army of seals just waiting to ambush your haul.

Caught oodles & oodles of them from a Bulloch Boat yesterday. They were quite close in and the place was teeming with them. There was plenty of other small boats around most of which were catching them for fun. Great craic on small spinning rod!

Not a sniff so far this year... they're WAY out.
Although Rostoonstown still managing to pull 20-30 people per night at the mo, it wont last if their not catching fish...!
(Bashers have limited patience

)
You can see them way out off Rosslare Point, about a mile out off the harbour wall - no prob if your in a boat.
The Bass down here seem to be in unusual spots too lately...

They were giving themselves up at the Flats, Ballyvaughan tonight. Still a long way out. Once I got enough for bait( on silver flasher with hardly any feather!) I went through a load of different colours to see if there was anything they wouldnt take but they seemed to be hungry and took the whole spectrum.

still a ZILCH on macks but caught two lovely bass on sidewinders at 5.30 am Sunday morning last. Thought I'd boo boo'd after zero on german sprats after an hour. first ray of light on the horizon and I switched to the sidewinder on the back of the Cunnigar Spit in Dungarvan. First cast BANG! 48cm bass. 2nd cast BANG again 52 cm. Nothing after that.
Wonderful way to spend a Sunday - and the day was only starting
