Alot of the Bass headed off for the summer...!! :-)
Great to see some Bass up north.

cheers man. we seem to get a bit of a run of them on the antrim/derry coastline during the winter months too. so it's not just the argos shoppers who head north around christmas time

It's great to fish a new spot and even better when it produces that well :D

thanks al. we usually have to fish our way through 3 or 4 poor marks before you hit gold (or silver  ) like that when fishing blind. but a bit of stubborn determination goes a long way :P

dave316 wrote:excellent session, especially with the weather lately, well done guys!!!

thanks dave. we just have to get out there any time there is a break in this weather at the moment.

RockHunter wrote:Great fishing - 4 Bass from NW Donegal now that's a surprise.

 and believe me frank, there was no one more surprised than me  . at first glance i thought the first one was a decent coalie breaking through the surf  . so you can imagine how buzzed i was to see the spikey dorsal :P . the other 3 were just the icing on the cake

Well done Al and Jordan. Some nice fish, especially Jordans Brill and the NW bass. Have to brush up on my fish ID. Don't think i could spot a brill from a turbot :)

thanks mick. althow i think i should put things into perspective with my report thow. i reckon that 4 out of every 5 new marks we try end up being a bit "run of the mill" with just the usual tiddly wee fish about them or even blanking   . but then you get a mark like that one that makes all the poor sessions seem worth while :D :D . you just gotta keep the faith and hold out for that 1 good session and not jive up  :P :P

thanks francis. i was glad to see jordan get a brill and a turbot on the same rig as it was a good way to teach him the difference between the 2 when he had them both in front of him. i know a lot of the refrence books tell you of the very subtle differences between the 2. but by far the easiest way to tell them apart is just to give them a wee rub. a turbot has hard boney lumps on it's skin called tubercles. but a brill is completly smoothe. apart from that the 2 species are almost completely identicle. so it's a simple yet very handy way for telling them apart  :P :P
