Sorry for late response Charlie, excellent report and fishing. You nailed it. Great pictures of a memorable trip. The pollack fishing we enjoyed last year is only around the corner again. Have to see if we can better that good evening we had last August at Rockport, you are racking up the species list admirably, that sea trout should be added to it this year? I know youve had them before but you need one this year especially for the count.

cheers Cathal. yip, i 'll be hoping for a sea trout this year alright. i just need to put the time and effort in, and i intend to.
should be headin up to the north coast tomorrow with Phil to try for mullet, that'll be a first too, and interesting. will put up a report if i do

congrats on your first ray

, got my first thornie only a couple of weeks ago thanks to donagh and in relation to your round trip we are on a par, had to cover similar distances a few times but it was well worth it IMHO

nice one mate. i was prepared to go the extra distance as they are a fascinating fish, i was really chuffed to get one and see them up close. well worth the wee effort in my book too. thanks

Little did you know youd be ticking sea trout off your species list the following day. Bigger ones to come, whole big summer of fishing ahead of us.
