Ronnach wrote:BTW regards all the broken cameras it might be worth getting a waterproof camera like the Fuji Film XP30, or getting a good quality camera cover such as those from

Thanks for the tip, a waterproof camera is what I need alright!! I did pick up a cheap camera on Sunday, but might be worth investing in Fuji.
nicefish wrote:That's some fish Frank,

you did well in finding a calm sea with that wind.
It wasn't calm, just not as rough as I expected considering the wind, although the surf built up through the day.
eyesreilly wrote:Thats a beauty Frank, and at least you had good compensation for the ruined camera
Thanks Dave, I wasn't too concerned about the camera, it was a fairly cheap model and I had problems with the flash and the zoom function, just annoying that I didn't get photos of the other two fish.
declan65 wrote:Well done Frank, Thats a good fish, in a couple of months it would easy make 11lbs, congrats on the new PB, those feed shallows must be your go to lure now
Thanks Declan, yes the Feed Shallow has been working well, I have been using a variety of other lures too but that is the only one that has been producing (apart from the one fish on a white Asturie).

Fine lump of a bass frank. Well done. Petty about the camera. Hope you had most of the photos already backed up. You can replace the camera but losing photos is a real shame.

Thanks Evan, the memory card was fine, worked OK in new camera.

Wow! What a stunning fish, simply breathtaking

Very well done Frank. Congratulations on the new P.B. I have a feeling it won't be long before you better this one with an even bigger fish.
It's such a shame about your camera but at least the memory card wasn't destroyed, it would have been awful if you had've lost your pictures that were on it, espicially the one of your biggest Bass, that would have been sickening.
Great report and fishing as always.

I wasn't too concerned about the camera, the memory card was the most important thing, it would have indeed been sickening if I had lost the photos. But at the rate I get through cameras I think I will have to get a waterproof and sandproof one!!!

This could be just the job (
http://www.aquapac.net/worldstore/water ... 853-0.html), I have been looking at them for the last few days for myself and was about to invest in one - ideal if you already have a camera which is not waterproof and protects from sand / grit as well as water. The added bonus is that in theory you can submerge camera eg. to take a picture/video of releasing a fish.

Thats a cracker Frank, well done

Thanks guys,
Yes waterproof/sandproof/shockproof sounds like the way to go. I will have to invest in the FujiFilm XP30.
No matter how careful I am my cameras don't last, most ruined with salt water but one jammed up with sand.
Oli - that one sounds like a bargin although I would be a bit wary of the "manufacture refurbished" comment.

Hi Frank,
I have the FujiFilm XP30.
Well worth the money and it can be got in Ireland with Memory card and carry case for €200 new.
All the recent pictures up on the Blog are taken with it.

I will put up a bit of a review on it here this evening if I get time.

Hi frank, I used a Fuji WP 33 camera for fishing. 10mb and waterproof...! Well wort it.
I have a nikon D90 with a bunch of lenses, would love to bring that but its just not worth it.
The bass definitly looks a contender for 10+ in Sept..! Nice fish.
Nice on on the CNR too. Fish over 5Ib are likely to be female. Better to keep a nice 4Ib if you ask me.

Brilliant.
Your ethics are to be commended too!
Well done,
John D.
