I bet you where glad when you finally got it landed, sounds like it was panic stations for a minute or two. Well done.
I was, I actually thought It might have been another clump of weed until i had it in near thats why I walked into the water because you never know how big of a clump you have until its out of the water, it puts a lot of strain on the gear otherwise! Just when the tip jammed and I lowered the rod down he went surging away. I did panic alright, lucky I got him in.

Cheers Ray, not as fine as the one you got the other day by the sounds of it

RockHunter wrote:Well done on your PB.
I generally have my rod rest set up at least 8 m from the water so when weed on the leader knot jams in the tip I can still easily haul the fish onto the beach.
I usuall do pretty much the same but the wind and rain was in my face and its was thick fog out plus my head lamp was just shinning into a cloud in front of my face, it was a bit disorienting, with the tide pushing out fast too you had to follow it each cast. Good tip anyway I'll know in future...

tight lines wrote:super fishing and fine Bass well done on the new pb but i am sure it wont bew long before you break it again the way you are catching them at the moment
I hope so mate, I saw a picture on my brother-in-laws phone the other day of a friend of his who caught a 13lb bass spinning in Dun laoghaire last summer. My gloating and showing of pics was quickly shot down, the fecker :x

Cheers Sweetwrasse, it was a beautiful fish indeed, I think it was blemish free, it left my hands with a few though.

evan699 wrote:Nice Bass. Well done on the pb. I can imagine the heart going ninety when the knot jammed with weed. Fair play on landing it. 8)
Well it certainly got the pulse up a bit!

The Monk wrote:Nice PB But as im in too photography alot im just wondering why ther backround behind your head is photoshoped and when i brighted up the photo it seems to be taken in a garden. Just wondering as you say he went back into the water thats all.
Cheers monk, yes he went back in the water, it was an attempt to obscure an obvious givaway to the location by voyeuristic folk trying to recognise landmarks! I thought I might have been paranoid for trying but I guess not, no offence. If it was sucessful at least for the time it was up it did its job. I've taken it down now so thanks at least for pointing that out, but maybe a PM might have been more appropriate, for future reference, but sure your post is up now! Even that could give a location away. I didn't try to brighten it up to see if the background could be seen because I was just using microsoft paint to black out stuff because I had to turn the camera away from the beach as that was the direction of the wind and rain. Is that satisfactory columbo?

jerryfromkerry wrote:Well done! Great pics and good post.
Thanks Gerry, I hear they're flying in down your direction.

BBQ gear? oops? what I did with it? Are you trying to suggest something seanie?   As I said in the report i had to shield the wind and rain from my camera with my jacket hung on the tripod, there have been a few people giving out about how busy certain cork beaches are at the moment supposedly because of reports so i'm trying not to contribute by putting up less obvious photos and generalising the report titles.
