Clocking up those miles rightly Al. Congrats on the Sea Trout. Really like the Male Dragonet great colours. You really seem to be doing the right research in all the spots you are finding recently.

Well done Al, you realy wrack up the miles around the country, I heard a rumour that the entire oil supply from Kuait goes to your local garage just to keep you in fuel

yeah, i've written off to shell and BP to see what the cahnces are of sponsorship for the rest of the year as i must have boosted their profits no end with all out travells

thanks dave. the craic was mighty . just a pity the fishing was'nt a bit better. but it's hard enough going at this time of year . the pollack scrapped really well as my spinning rod was loaded with 10lb mono and i had the drag loosened off a good bit . i'd almost forgotten how well they fight as it's been a long time since i've had one that size . and as for the women and booze. we probably would have been better off staying in the pub . but sure,, nothing ventured, nothing gained as they say

cheers conor. great meeting up with you all again. jordan has me tormented to get back out to connemara again. he really liked that rock mark we got the thornies and ray off beside the B&B. i think he wants to adopt that wee dog that appears when you fish that mark . but no wonder it stuck to us as he must have fed it half a loaf's worth of sandwiches the last time we were there

i have a bait fridge just like yours it,s a bit understocked at the moment 20 lug looking very sad

my other fridge looks more like your one roger althow you have to be careful which one you raid for a munchie attack

yep, sure will i'll need to be buying some shares in esso at this rate i recently filled in that survey about the bass andgave myself a fright when i worked out what i spent last year on bait, petrol, tackle, charters and accomodation i'll need another win in the lotto to keep up at this rate

thanks jonny. i had put him into a wee rock pool to get some good pics of him with his dorsal sticking up as he looked amazing. but by the time i changed the batteries in the camera a bloody big wave swept him back out to sea . pity too as he looked amazing in the water in the sunshine . as for the research, i've taken to selecting a location then doing a google image search for pics. some of those ramblers and coastal walkers have great pics of potential marks on their sites and you also get some great links to photobucket and flickr pics. i've also discovered that some of those rambling and walking sites have great info for parking and directions on how to access coastal paths that have been long forgotten . i'm currently researching the old gobbins path from blackhead to portmuck as it's an area hardly fished, but has some excellent rock marks into pretty deep water on the charts. deffo worth a crack when the wrasse return for the summer

thanks seanie, hopefully the minis will be coming in soon in better numbers. sadly, most of the spots we target them at, you are fishing between the boulders in sea defences. so any kind of swell seems to put them off and you loose loads of gear
