Thats a fine reward for keeping the faith so long. Hope you get yours soon.
On the the celebratory smokes: I've had an vague suspicion for years that smokers catch more than non-smokers. Anybody else ever noticed anything on this, or am i just looking for excuses? I often wondered if nicotine on the fingers passed on to the bait/lure might be working as an attractant.

Thanks everyone. I have directed my friend to the site as a visitor. He couldnt believe the response.
Hugo- I am not sure what the health service will have to say about encouraging anglers to smoke... I did hear that something similar happens to women when salmon fishing. Some hormone from their hand 's (theramone- pretty sure spelling is inaccurate) is left on the fly and greatly helps catch ratio. My thoughts are it is only an excuse.

way to go man . it was this time last year when we got 6 of them not far from where you were at. hope it's a sign of things to come there's a good breeding resident population of them on the west coast of scotland. i just wonder are they coming across to our shores . you always hear rumours of them being taken on that stretch of coast,,,,,, but very rarely do you get the pics to prove it, so congrads man and keep at it
