a lot of the common species have different irish names depending on area e.g.
pollog in kerry
mangach in connemara

pound for pound i would put the seatrout well up the ladder when it comes to their fighting ability, i recond they are one of the best fighting fish in our waters, thats the reason they are my main target spicies. and your one at 60+cm must have gave you a cracker of a scrap, well done!!!!
