was good you meet you mate. That mackeral was a very odd catch, then again it could've been frozen

Just kiddin. Good session anyway, maybe see ya down there again sometime.
good to meet you mate, how did you finish in the end?. i saw you get a couple. after you left i chucked my rod out to the spot you were fishing at and got a couple of good hits, but i could'nt hook into em
lol!!

it's not that we're expert anglers or anything, i just play the odds. law of average dictates the more sessions you get in, the more fish you'll encounter. and we get in as many sessions as possible

I think it's probably the later of the 2 mate

The gloves and the hand warmers are definately the way to go this time of year I'd say.

Only managed that tiny poor cod and the rockling, can't complain

I was getting good hits off the back as well but couldn't hook up, spend more time towing in rafts of seaweed

plenty of that sea weed out the back of the peir, but in summer on macky traces you get some of the better pollack and coalies, some codling and plenty of mackerel inside (2wards the north peir) there are loads of pouting, coalies and pollack and a good few rockling, some codling and wrasse in summer

unfortunatly all the decent fish are in the kelp beds mulling around

, it's a double edged sword. if you want to present the bait to em you gotta get your gear deep in the kelp to where they are

but the tackle loss is a bit more bareable so long as you get the odd good fish

i see you've been reading our past reports

i'm still not sure what to make of getting a mack this early, if the water is mild enough for them to remain as a resident shoal i don't know what it will spell for the usual easter run of them

. will it be early?, late? or broken up all year round

i think it will only be a matter of time before trigger fish, red mullet and sea bream become usual visitors to our shores in the north

BRING ON THE TARPON!!!

a fella i know got a triggerfish in a lobster pot, thought he was mistakening it for something else, saw a picture definitely a trigger, very rare ehh.

good fishing thats an early mackerel

great session lads you put the hours in and deserve the results. as for the mack were still getting a few on the boat but as the water temp continues to drop they will disappear.
