dfella, the best spot around that area were your almost guaranteed a good few fish is the rocks to the right (or left) of the small cove/beach. If you have a drive out to greystones harbour you'll see the rocks easy enough

Fish a 3 hook flapper anywhere from 80 yards right in close, fish with mack, squid, rag, lug, maybe try a single hook rig at distance aswell.

You can expect dabs, flounder, plaice, coalies, pollock, whiting, dogs....and maybe the odd suprise bass

pm me your number if you want a bit of help, I might be able to drop down for a few hours fishing myself, so could show you the marks a bit easier.

basiclally walked all the way down the fenced off official walkway to the beach at the start a big massive U shaped walk around machinery and materials - but on the way back got under the fence right beside the old road to the carpark - which is now cordoned off for working vehicles

walk down that road towards the town - and you can see where the public road access ends - once again under the fence and your litterally 2 mins from where that chippy is/was near the seafront at the harbour

40 mins down - 5 mins back :!:

was wondering what they are building further north on the beach - with large concrete blocks going from the field into the sea - if its a groyne its bound to change the lie of the beach and make it a bit shallower on one side :!: :?: :!: :?:

From what I understand pretty much the whole beach will be effectivly gone, they're building all along it and out to sea. Hopefuly somebody will correct me but I think that's the case

Cheers for that Shambo fair play. I was using two hook flappers with rag tipped with mack. And I had a couple of crabs left so I stuck them out on a pennel with my smaller rod closer in to the shore.

Not sure how I'm fixed with work for a couple of weeks but intend on heading back back down so I'll drop you a PM.

Marble,

Have you fished it from high water down? i.e tide going out, not coming in :!:
