There has been a confirmed report of mackerel been caught of Dun Laoghaire pier which is very early indeed. Feathers and german sprats work well off the pier.....

according to the update on the ERFB site

Which pier, please??? I was in the West pier yesterday freezing me arse off, spinning a German sprat and I only saw birds, seals, and possibly a dolphin

Anybody catching mack's around the Belmullet area, Mayo :?:

Should be heading there tomorrow for the weekend, with it being a short few sessions it would be nice to know where they are so as I dont have to waste time (either fishing for them or trailing round the supermarkets to buy some fresh  )

Any help greatly appreciated :D

Great to see this post active again in 2008 and added to that the arrival of mackerel off the Clare coast. These visitors are particularly welcome after a couple of my blanks on Clare shores so far this year.

anyone catching on the carrick harbour gona go down but not going down if theres nothing there. :D

Maybe things have gone quiet again with the change in weather?

Don't forget that reporting blanks for macks is as important as reporting catches for the purposes of this thread (just look at mine from last year :? )

Well folks,

ventured down as far as Bray last week and feathered for an hr while i had a bottom bait in, and not a sniff! It would be interesting to see how far down the coast they have gotten if at all! I will try out my secret spot next week and if they ain't there they ain't hit the coast yet! Will throw up reports if they are there.
