Sandeel worked for me too, 2/0 pulley cast about 100 yards. As a fairly novice caster I was well pleased with the distance - when I got home realised I had nearly full mags on the 525

Galway might not do meets too often, but when we do, you'll remember them forever
Or nights out....
Lettergesh..... :D

i was getting no joy trying for the doggies and ray, had no magic sandeels - so took out the spinning rod and got the first coalie on a floated mussel - others fell to mack strip
later one of the doggies took a half mack on a 4/0 hook  greedy bugger
great craic as has been said
fishing sunday morning was very disappointing to say the least - was very tired and the fine day on saturday was replaced with a cold breezy overcast day - you could see why charcoal sausages at noon were appealing
fair play to pete on the spread - a life saver really - for some reason i was cold even in the sunshine - the grub warmed the cockles of me heart - and staved off the few beers i was having :P
great to put faces to names - and pity the poor head who had to share a bus with al back to dublin! :P

hehe.. and on the drive home the only think that made him respond was when ever "young wans" were mentioned.. so funny

Just awake now lads and i'm still knackered! Cheers lads had a great time in Killary wont be forgetting it in a hurry a great bunch of lads :D Only caught a doggie but the craic and the grub and the company more than made up for it!
Things i have learned at Killary..
1) Get some sleep before getting there!
2) Catch some fish or you'll never here the end of it. :)
3) Guinness doesn't wake you up.
4) Steve will say the opposite to number 3!
5) Check your tent is not a prop from star trek before going there...
or else you will be in tears when you try to set up what looks like a hot air baloon at about midnight while people point and laugh!
6) Get tent sound proofed!
7) Corbyeire is able to make sausages that have to be peeled... very interesting to eat but nice once you get through the sand and Charcoal ;)
Cheers again lads look forward to meeting up again...maybe this time i can get fish number 2  :D
