Two of us fished Clogherhead from kayaks on Tuesday evening - not a bite. Heading out again on Friday into an incoming tide so hopefully something positive to report.

A few Macks Caught off Poolbeg yesterday not in the numbers they should be in

also kept in contact with a lad in DĂșn Laoghaire and again only a few showed up there, All Joeys.

Just a thought but why don't any of you try float fishing,at least if there is no mackeral about you could pick up garfish with all this good weather there should be a good few about,the same tactic will get mackeral if they are about,save the effort of lashing out feathers all day for nothing ,at least ye might get something for your time spent

I normally float fish for them, much better in my opinion, and as you say you can target more species, even a few pollock.

Mackeral showing in small numbers at Portnoo. About 200 fish in the bay coming in 2 hours before ebb in the evening. Decent average size. One full House and a couple of stragglers captured. Cat's Happy.

We were out off achill mayo this morning fished from 5 to 11 am. Got plenty of mack in the bay the slake tides are helping them shole up. All good sizes no joeys .

Some macks showing in Cobh last week or so,caught 4 myself last Sunday 3 small ones and 1 nice sized

Helvic pier between 5pm and 8pm today watched lads pulling in bags of Macks .No Bs looks very promising

Ballycotton yesterday both tides only saw 6 mackerel caught all small.

Have driven past it a lot recently, all state of tides, nothing doing from what I could see
