those bass look a bit dead from what im seeing :shock:

nope i aint been negative just say what im seeing....so where was the secound pic taken?

now that would be telling....if you want results you gotta get out there and work for them........regards ivan

so.. let me guess you catch as many bass as you can then you put them all back in the water when you've finished..

no one in there right mind catches a fish then casts out to catch more if they believe in catch and release.. the only person you are fooling is yourself..

i'm currently enquiring about bag limits and size restrictions for northern ireland, if there is one and what size fish return sizes are(the second one down looks alot smaller than 40cm)

now i dont usually rant on about anything, but it is just wrong ok..

if any one out there has any info on size restrictions and daily bag limits in northern ireland, please post it up for all to see...

yea dont think secound one down is making 40cm if thats the rules up here.....someone will know......and bass boy i do work for my results, everytime :evil:

any fish i catch are put back,ALIVE! so i dont see were your coming from with size restrictions.i came on this site to show folk that there are plenty of bass on the northern shores and to show where they can be caught not to take a lot of criticism.and for your information all those fish are well over 40 cm if i had wanted to kill them.regards ivan

ifsa size limit is 43cm as far as i know and i'm not 2 sure not bag limits but down south i think there is a bag limit of 2 bass or somethin like that

So were you using a keepnet , or did you just happen to be fishing a 5-hook flapper :roll: and get a quintuple shot??

Or maybe you got them on feathers? Sure they must be as plentiful as mackerel up there... :? :roll:

hey bradan you can say what you like with the smart comments,its best to let bass destress before putting them back so rockpools are quite a useful thing,i aint broken any laws and if i want to destress my fish before putting them back thats my choice,and yes they are as plentiful as makerel if you know where to go.regards ivan

the best way to DESTRESS a bass is to return it back as quickly and safely as possible.. not put it in a rock pool with other bass so the have to fight for what ever oxygen there is in the pool :evil: :evil: :evil:

Sorry, what planet are you on? If you know anything about catch and release its that handling itself causes stress. Get the fish back in the water (the sea, not a flippin rockpool) as fast as possible, support the fish in the water until it regains its strength, then let it go.
Keeping a fish in a rockpool.... what kind of idiot does that? Rockpools by their very nature experience extremes of temperature and low oxygen levels as they are shallow and cut off from tidal flow for prolonged periods. Creatures that live in rockpools are adapted to withstand these stresses, thats why bass aren't found in rockpools.

Then when the fish has "destressed" you go and handle it again for a photo, said photo being taken with fish lying on a rock, where it will leave quite a few scales, you know those things on a fish's skin that protect it from injury and infection.
