Mullet from Strangford Lough - 20/09/09

Tue Sep 22, 2009 1:46 pm

People: KERRY1 & K2

Tide: Mixed

Weather: Sunny and warm

Rig: Float

Bait: Bread

Results: 3 mullet for K2 :D 1 mullet lost for KERRY1

MARK 1

We woke up early and looked outside to see what the weather was like. When we seen it was such a nice morning we decided to get up and not waste the day and went fishing.
K2 and myself arrived at the first mark we fished that day. We seen fish moving both on the surface of the water and underneath the surface almost right away.
We began throwing bits of bread in to them and they showed interest in it right from the start.
It wasn't long before we started getting good bites but we missed them not hooking into one fish.
After numerous unsuccessful attempts further, K2 had his first fish on. It gave him a good fight before it was landed.
After unhooking it safely, a quick photograph was taken and it was released.
A few minutes later it was my turn, this felt like a good fish but only after having it on for a couple of minutes it got off  I was so annoyed, it has been a while since I caught my last one and I really wanted to land this fish.
Approx. half an hour after his first fish, K2 hit into his second one. This one didn't fight as much, just as well as he was wading out quite abit at this stage and had a bit of a walk back to get it landed but thankfully he managed it, unlike me who lost the fish!
Again, he unhooked his fish safely, a quick photo was taken and it was released.
Quickly ater this the fish started to move and so we moved down with them. We got more hits on our floats and bread but no other fish where caught.
We decided to pack up and head home for a quick change of clothes and go and watch the football. That was the intention until we seen how good the weather was and so decided to go fishing again instead. So we headed to mark 2.

MARK 2

As soon as we arrived there was fish about. Again they where hitting our bread on the top of the water. It wasn't long before K2 got his fish. It gave him a really good fight before getting tired allowing him to land it successfully.
I had loads of bites but missed them and so I took a break and just watched K2 for a while.
No other fish where caught but K2 had a nice one so we didn't mind.
Pictures of our days fishing can be seen below as well as a couple others of Strangford Lough which I took last Sunday when we where out for a drive.

I forgot about this picture, this is only for abit of fun
A must have for all mullet anglers - a good supply of bread stocked up. You would be surprised at how many you go through in a session or two
These where bought last night from Tesco's. We didn't pay full price for them, that would work out quite expensive.
They cost me £1 in total. 10 of them only cost me 8p each and 2 of them only cost me 10p each. A bargain or what?
That's what I call using your loaf

Entries are now closed. The final two differences were: 1. The smile (dentures forgotten the first time) and 2. THE FISH! (Nice Mullet by the way)!

Now now, go easy lads K2 has caught a lovely Mullet there and has every reason to be happy. I think he is singing "Pretty Woman" to K1 who needs to take some photographic advice from the Mullet "Specimen" Meister.

I am getting really sick and sore of a few people on this forum having a dig at me and my reports.
I promised myself that I wasn't going to bite again but I have had enough. I am not going to let you's make idiots out of either me or K2 anymore.
If anyone has a problem with me or K2 then come and say it to our faces, you know where to find us. Don't say things on the forum, say it to our faces.
I know what you's are trying to do and so can some other's on this forum who have already sent me PM's asking me what your problem is with me.
Not that I have to justify my pictures or my report to you's anyway but in this instance I feel I have too.
There have been a few comments made about how K2's jumper, jacket and tee-shirt are different in the photographs, well if you read my report before jumping then you would have seen that we went to one mark first and then went home for a quick change. We then went on to another mark in the afternoon hence why there is a different coat and top on him.
The second and third picture where taken at the first mark and if you look closely enough the top & jacket in both of these photo's are the same.
The first picture was taken at the second mark after a change of clothes hence why the top and coat are different in this photo from the other two.
His wading pack is the same in all three photographs as it has been all season.
The bad quality or poor shading of two of the pictures is my fault, nothing to do with K2. He still caught the two nice fish that are featured in them.
Having been criticised for giving away marks in my photographs in the past on this forum I decided to make the effort and tried to hide/fade out the background to avoid any further hassle.
I didn't do this too well (but hey, I'm not an expert) and ended up making a mess of the colour of the pictures in question.
I should have just put my pictures up as they where but that probably wouldn't have made any difference, I would have then been set criticised and for giving away a mark/location. I can't win and I am not going to try because some people just aren't worth the effort anymore.
I hope clears a few things up. If it doesn't as I already said up above, come and speak to me face to face and I will to speak to you about it then.
I am sure there will be further comments made now that I have posted this reply but just be careful what you say, you don't want to be going and upsetting or annoying anyone (or me and K2) any further.
This post is not meant for those of you who have been nice to me on this forum, your kind words, support and encouragement are appreciated by both me and K2 and will continue to be.
There's just a small element of people this is meant for and they should know who they are.
Leave me alone, Live and let Live that's what I say.

K1, your reports are good and always appreciated. I take my hat (much admired) off to you both for the amount of fish you catch, I am jealous! The spot the difference was only a laugh and nothing to do with the report. You see, with all the blanks I have and very tiny fish when I do score, I NEED a bit of a laugh!Sorry if it offended anyone 8)
You're a dab hand at the shopping too..........your weeky bill must be a joy with all that cheap grub!
