People: Team UN vs Team Dodger
Duration:8-11pm
Tide: last few hours of the ebb
Weather: mild, no wind with a nice swell rolling in
Bait: basette all sorts- mainly consisting off out feeder rigs
Rigs: pick 'n' mix
Results: team UN- 25 bass, 1 flounder. 1 whiting 1 dog
team dodger- 23 bass 2 flounder 1 whiting
(all bass between 20-25cm!!
Report:with the other SAI lads having craic on youghal beach, the dogder, dbrock and myself tried a small mark in wicklow to get a few fish, the dodger and i set up at opposite ends of the beach, team dodger was down to 1 member, while team UN, consisting of me and the GB flag on my rod casted out in earnest. the dodger despite being 1 team member down notched up 6 bass before i got in a look in, soon enough after seeking some advice off the bass master i got 1, and then had a double, basically had a bass a cast each for the next 2 ours. dennis popped down and a late substitution was made, with dennis landing five of the light glorified pin whiting yokes. towards the end of the tide, the bass tailed off and allowed a few others to get in on the action with a dog, couple of flounder and and a lone whiting making an appearance. finals totals where made and our team won, due to three lucky doubles, got by pure laziness to reel in when i saw a bite. great to see such a number of little ones about, good sign for the future.pics up later
POST SCRIPT
a 4*4 was on the beach a day before, leaving tracks up to 3 metres deeps, a small child walking his dog was killed by one avalanche of sand after one of the dunes collapsed and a party of nocturnal mack bashers are still missing after falling into one of the tracks, come on lads, for the sake of a few minutes and a bit of exercise this could have been avoided

Eric the 40cm flats make for a good cup on a jockstrap. the 10cm ones are useful for some people too
'mark why have you got a flounder in your room?'
