Rented a boat from one of the boat hire people and had a good day catching a few mackerel lovely sunny day but was saddened by the reception we meet as we arrived back at the harbour this women was very rude with an f*** in every sentence and went on to say in front of my Spanish friend that there are to many f***ing foreigners in this country..
I felt sick to the stomach and was glad my friend did not understand this as every other Irish person he meet while here for the weekend has been very friendly to him…

That is a bit of a shocker. Mind you I bring a little Kurdish lad fishing with me all the time. And with all the "foreigners robbing the fish" talk I'm scared that someone will pass a remark. We have had to stop going to Howth because of jibes and remarks. In saying that he loves fishing. He has a real passion for it. We have been out in Bullock alot this summer and while we do keep a few macks we have never experienced any thing like that.

I've met that same damsel myself when taking boats out of Bullock, and have been treated to some very loud and colourful instructions (especially when docking at low tide). Mind you, that must be all of seven or eight years ago now. The poor lass simply can't help herself, but it's nice to know that Bullock is still good for a laugh.

I think she's known to every angler in south dublin. I used to find it amusing but I've stopped renting boats from them because I got tired of being charged exorbitant prices and getting dog's abuse for the privilege.

how could any one moan about 20euro an hour?????
when you consider,,running cost, wages, tax, petrol, insurance, plus you dont even have to untie the boat or return it to the moorings
i know you wouldn get my boat for 30 an hour never mind 20,,, go buy a boat and see what the cost is for a year
