size ten for the snoods personally i wouldnt use swivels for the main body i would use easy links, ive often had swivels snap while i was casting.

i use size 1 swivels for main line (100lb bs) and size 8 for snoods... easy links on the end of my main reel line for easy linking to the swivels on the snoods...

I use size 10 for snoods.
This brings up an interesting point. When you order stuff on-line it can be hard to decide what size you really want. For example, I order split rings and treble hooks every spring to refresh my lures. I always have trouble remembering what sizes to order. It's probably worthwhile keeping a sample of various sizes of components so you know what to order, or keeping your old receipts with the size information.

for scratching in close i use size 8for top swivel and size 20 for snoods, it may seem fairly small but the size 20 swivel is still 20lbs strenght, coulpe this with light line and your away

I would use more or less the same as beachcaster...most of my rigs are 2 & 3 hook flappers, clipped or unclipped i use size 10 swivels for snoods and 80lb swivels for the rig body.

why bother using 80lbs swivels for snoods when your only using 15 or 20lbs line, the snood will break far far earlier than the swivel, is this not just over kill :?: :?:

I'd say 40 or 50lb Swivels are the norm for snoods on the Average Rig.
However An 80lb Swivel at the top of the Rig Body is an essential Item. If You notice, the only 2 Load bearing items on a Rig are the Top Swivel, and the Clip at the Bottom. and
they are the only 2 Load bearing items flying through the Air during a Cast(If you notice your Leeder knot should still be a brave few Turns round the Reel). So basically the 80lb Swivel is there to bear the excess pressure on it during the Powerstroke of a cast.... anything less is really cutting it a bit fine.

same as me really...60-100lb swivel at the top and 25-40lb swivel for the snood.

i fish light cos your generally only in close. I got 2 bass 1 excess of 10lbs and the other in excess of 12.5lbs using these methods.

if your rig body or leader isnt 80lbs then this will break before the sweivel so you should down size.
the way i fish (right or wrong) is that my snoods are the lightest, followed by rig body, followed by leader simply because id rather loose a rig than having to retie a leader etc. thats just what i do im not proclaiming its the be all and end all
