Best way to treat corrosion on rod rings

Postby Chris76+ » Thu Jul 05, 2018 11:06 am

Hi all, prevention is better than cure I know, but what's your opinion on best methods of treating the metal parts of rod rings that have signs of corrosion (green build up). I'm interested in treatments that won't damage the plastic line guides. Thanks.

lol i suppose, keep at it depending on the quality of the rings, im always surpised how quick that green abrasion builds up on new rods - cheap alloys!

Thanks guys, I gave them a good wipe down with the WD40. I think they must be brass alloys, its a freshwater rod I used for some light lure fishing a while back. I'll give it a rinse after next session.
