When tying knots in mono or fluorocarbon, especially in lower diameter lines, the mono below the knot tends to curl into a corkscrew shape and tangle around swivels and hooks.
Whenever I finish tying a new rig, I hang it from the ceiling with maybe 12oz of lead on the lead link and on each hook. I leave them for about 24 to 48 hours to stretch.
After that you have nice kink-free rigs that are less prone to tangling.
I know I won't have been the first to figure this out but I hope it will help someone.
Perhaps there is an easier way to do it?
