Hi All,
I've a "Fairly" new spinning road (shakespeare alpha x spin) that I bought on a whim (can never have too many rods).
The reel seat has gotten loose and can rotate half way around the rod meaning the fixed spool reel doesn't line up with the rod eyes anymore. It's more of an annoyance as I can still fish away but it's just going to get worse if I dont do something proactive about it.
I was thinking of just drilling straight through the reel seat and putting a small bolt with a nut or similar through it. I did try and remove the foam handle but she's well glued on and I suspect I'll end up wrecking the rod if I try and remove it.
Thoughts? Anyone done similar before?
Apologies if this is posted in the wrong location....

I wouldn't drill through it it will only give the rod a weak point just take the foam off reglue the reel seat using apoxy resen and u can get shrink rap grip in most tackle shops , even have a look on YouTube there are plenty vids on reel seats on there hope this helps

Cheers Paul,
I was somewhat worried about introducing a weak point as well. I'll try what you have suggested
