Catching Whiting like Mackerel

Wed Dec 11, 2013 11:32 pm

Myself and the brother-in-law went to a local mark on Saturday night. After our first cast it was all go. The whiting were constant every cast 3+ fish (sometimes 4 on a 3 hook flapper). I am relatively new to sea angling and in particular winter fishing. Was just wondering if this is the norm for the whiting or was this night just an exception?

It's normal for the East coast this time of year anyway. Can be impossible to catch anything else at times but it's better than standing around getting cold :D Have heard of lads catching 100+ whiting in match situations
