Best knot for using on 2 way beads.

As it says above what is the knlot you use to hold the bead in place on the main line and what knot do you use to attach the snood from pulling through or going back . Thanks all.

I've recently started to use rig glue and micro beads instead of a knot and I find it grand but a bit of a slog getting the rigs ready
the glued beads seem to be strong enough as I've had a few decent hard fighting wrasse on them with no problems

Cheers cathald, when ya say rig glue is it super glue you use or is super glue ok to use or will it weeken the line? Or are you gluing the micro bead in place as a stoper?.

Yeah It,s a rig glue I'm using but I think you can use some of the loc tight superglues...I glue the micro beads in place as a stopper above and below the 2 way bead

I use clear silicone (powergum) stoppers instead of the micro beads, one or two at each side, a lot easier to adjust the traces and no fear of main line damage from cyanide based (super)glue. You can find them easy on the interweb or ask your local dealer for it. I always have a few meters with different diameters in my box handy. Just cut off a few 3-5 mm pieces and thread your line trough twice and pull. That's all. If you need more hold use two or even three. Fully adjustable to whatever rig you are using.

Why not use a stop knot save you buying any more stuff ?a sliding stop knot made from your rig body and pulled good and tight will work fine!

Sorry Roger, I have to throw in a little remark. No offense, by any means.

My own experience from using simply nylon line as stopper is that it's prone to damage and weaken the main rig body if you are not exceptionally careful when you tie the stop knot.

Friction and heat can build up really high, obviously caused by pulling the lines tight and in the effort to make the stop knot relatively small. This can't be dissipated between two similar materials, one or the other suffers, usually the main rig body.
You inevitably end up with a hidden weak spot on your main line.

This also is a common cause for line breakage after connecting shock leaders to the main line with a blood knot, just as an example.
Due to the 3, 5 or even more layers of line adding up in the knot to this effect becomes multiplied and the weakest part suffers the most heat and pressure damage, here it is the rig body, being thinner in diameter than the stop knot.

No matter how much saliva and cooling is involved, the thinner part will always be frayed or weakened, in our scenario it is the main line or rig body. The heat and friction creates weak spots exactly there where you don't want them.

Furthermore, I might add, if the knot is pulled tight, and you want it like that to be on the safe side, it will become nonadjustable pretty quick, especially under casting pressure and therefore this is not really ideal for snood adjustment purposes.

I'd rather go with something proven safe like silicone tubing, you can easily get it in various colours, translucent would be my choice with rig these beads.
Whatever, the cost is minimal and I really don't want to risk a good fish or worse spoil a good fish for the sake of a few yoyos.

However, I have used stop knots tied with ordinary sewing twine or rod builders twine to great success. These are totally different materials as your main line and you can really pull them tight with no fear of weak spots created.

Only downside is their varied flexibility, some twines tend to slip faster or earlier than others but they are dead cheap and you get years of usage out of a few spools which you have purchased somewhere in an old fashioned poundshop (called Euro stores nowadays...) or on fleabay.

i've tried thread and even waxed/ unwaxed floss. they slip too easily and when fishing light, often with multiple light hooklenghts, the tangles make catching fish a problem i've had an odd fish come off the hook as the stops slip too.

you can use a pliers to hold tag ends of mono stop knots and tighten them. they are difficult to budge.

each to their own on this. never had a rig snap due to a mono stop.
