Most of my fishing is done at the wall in monkstown and few can argue that when the water starts to run there its next to impossible to hold, But i have learned a few tricks that able me to hold the bottom. basically go about 40 meters to your right or left opposite to what ever way the tide is going and cast out as soon as you cast out leave a ton of line out so there is a big bow in the line bring your rod back up to where you are fishing make sure there still is a bow in your line and wait a few min and the line should clear up all the slack and should be holding the bottom fine. If there is still a bow in your line after a few min just reel in until the line is tight and your lead should not move. And there is no need for 8 oz grippers if you do what i say above with a 6 oz gripper it should fine. Hope this helped :) Tight lines bud :)
