depends on situation, very clear water add reflective bling sometimes helps, after all fish scales reflect light
in rougher water the extra weight keeps the bait closer to the bottom, add a small spilt shot
but it depends on the fish and what they want, sometimes plain rigs work for them sometimes they like a little incentive to spark interest
as you can guess i have done both and feel the jury is out on this one as i havent had any solid proof for either, therefore I'll keep trying both on the day to see which works then stick with that rig

That doesn't really make sense. If the above is true then it basically mean sometimes i catch fish and sometimes i don't. the beads didn't make a difference.
