Don't forget your measuring tape!

I originally posted this in reply to a shore angling report but it's probably more appropriate here. To avoid forgetting your measuring stick or tape, attach some self-adhesive measuring tape to your rods. It comes in metric and imperial, lasts well and is dirt cheap so replacing it isn't a problem. http://www.journalcraft.co.uk/pop-tape- ... -591-p.asp I have included a couple of pics showing each tape.

Good tip but what do ye do when you catch a fish which is longer than your rod ?

i have marked my tripod leg with permanent marker with 40 cm mark(for bass) and 10 cm marks after up to 90 cm ,handy if i forget my measure funny thing is since marking it years ago i havnt forgotten it once :roll:
