marinas and piers from my experience aren't the best places to start out fishing if there's alot of traffic you find much in there only mullet and maybe congers. if its just a small little mooring where most boats are moored to a blandy in open water then you may get pollock and macks, best choice for that in my opinion is get four or five german sprats and just bang em out, let them sink way down and medium speed retrieve. dexter wedges, toby's maybe even a few pearl white stick baits. its all trial and error really bud. what might catch me twenty pollock at a mark might never catch you one. but generally speaking a german sprat will take a pollock if its there!!
good luck
