sea weed

is there any way of predicting sea weed on beachs? is it to do with the wind direction? any tips for fishing in sea weed? anything at all please thanks

Theres a topic called weedwatch on here for each region which is handy
2013 species : coalies,flounder(pb),whiting,dogfish,5 beard rockling
2012 species : cod,whiting,coalies;flounder,5 beard rockling,bass,dogfish,dab

Wind direction & time of year.

Strong onshore blows will weed up most areas, but this can be the time that the fishing is at its best aswell!

theres some old myth that used to say that seaweed travels against the wind,,im starting to believe it now the way my local beach is :mrgreen:

i think weed is the enemy of most anglers but as alby says it can be a sign the fishing is good,finding spots on the coast that dont have weed on them when all around them is unfishable is the trick ,these spots can be stuffed with fish ,its something that takes lots of homework to find out :lol: i sometimes think a helicopter would be your only answer :lol:
