Bad rod breakages repairable??

Sun Feb 12, 2012 1:31 pm

Theres a guy on ebayuk selling high quality carbon strands (sorry cant do a link). Ive emailed him and hes very sure breakages on rods are repairable using this product and the fix will be even stronger on the broken section than before the break, process sounds tricky enough but most guys will chuck a badly broken rod in the bin so theres hope yet especially with the more expensive models, anyone try this ??

sounds too good to be true. not sure i would trust it after all it the section that is repaired is stronger than it was that would change the action of the rod, imho, broke the top inch or two off rods but find they are still usable. If the section broke in the middle i personally would just replace the broken section, ie new tip/butt

True it sounds a bit iffy , this guy reckons sanding the broken sections into male/female fit ins then using the carbon strands/ resin should be more than enough, i might give it a go some day be interesting to see if it works
