Here's one for you, if you know of any hot spots for catching bass thats a start try look for a really rocky area when the tide is fully out then look for channels like a trench in between rocks and remember where they are because when the tide is fully in, the channels are like deep streams , now if you rememberd where the channel ends (no more rocks and meets the sea) then that would be the best place to fish for bass as when the tide starts coming in all the little sea creatures can come out of there small pools and out from under rocks swim down the channels where the hungry bass like to wait for oncoming dinner.
It works 9 times out of 10 for me as long as the bass are there, But the problim is you will lose alot of lures on rocks so have plenty of reserves, so good luck on that.

Link lures work well for me , plugs are very affective too, shiny silver in colour seems to be most affective personally for me [/img]

My experience is that 4 inch casting shads are ace for bass. They work! The great thing is that the hook protrudes from the back rather than from the belly. The loss rate of these cheap lures is thus minimised.
Now - the hardest thing is to find where the bass hang out and then fishing on a rising tide when the surf is of a particular pattern. That last sentance sums it all up. Whats more given those particular conditions, they keep coming back. That, FWIIW, is my experience.
