Wish i had a few of what you and your mates are drinking mate. Just chuck it in the tackle box - Then sort it out in the day light hours.

i use all sorts of containers/tubs for sviwels and geni clips then stack them in the box then pack everything else in

Hi,

I find a few bungie straps inside the top of the box really help clear things up. You can stuff rig wallets, fish measure, couple of packets of feathers, syringe etc. inside the straps and they're out of the way plus you always have them in case of emergency.

Basically I keep all the stuff I don't regularly use here, this way I never forget it and it's tidy, out of the way and I'm not rooting through it every session.

Couple of icecream tubs in the bottom for spools of line, boxes of hooks, spare elastic, superglue, insulation tape etc. and you're done. (ahem, I seem to make sure I have everything for that "rainy day" - no wonder my back is broken from lugging all this stuff around...)

Another cool idea and it can be quite handy is get a little battery operated cupboard light and stick this onto the inside of the lid. Works a treat at night, pop open the box and flick the switch and whole box is lit up - very handy.

managed to cut my gear down a bit. weights are a curse though. spools of line are another problem. shocklearder spools can come in different diameter between brands which makes packin 'em away a pain. my rucksack was great for packin things away nice and neat and i could find my way around it in the dark. the tacklebox is going to be a challenge!

the list of what i bring on fishingtrips is long...
the list of things i DONT use i allmost as long ;)

I allways tend to bring to much gear and i never learn to cut it down i guess.

Been doin a bit of tidying myself lately, I've come up with the novel idea of packing everything backwards (like scuba diving kit), by that i mean put what you need last on the bottom and first on the top-:

rig wallet, leads etc on the bottom, reels & coasters above these and the all important head lamp on top.

dont know why I carry 20 5/6 oz leads though???

Mon Aug 15, 2005 12:21 pm

same here alby i cant figure out why i carry that many leads   from the rocks i can understand a wee bit

You all know as well as I do, its the one bit of gear you don't bring, that you end up desperately needing. Always happens, without fail.

I dare anybody to argue!

There's an excellent looking tackle bag in this months' Irish angler.
It has 8 multi compartment boxes in different sections of it.
Cost is about 85 euro which is pricey but I think I'm gonna get me one!

Has to be a good mate for this one ................
When it's your turn to drive, put all your leads in a strong small bag and put them in the car last. When you collect your mate, slip them in his rucsack whilst oading the boot.
After a 2km trudge over shingle, set up and say, 'Bugger!', where's my leads, could have sworn I put them in the car".

Oh, how we laughed .......

The only thing i put in any sort of order is my lures and poppers they go in a large lunch box!! oh and my rigs in a rig wallet . The rest is just dumped in.
