Could somebody spare me a few words on line laying. I've just started using a Penn mag 525 and I'm finding it a bit tricky

Found this the other day...

Same as anything with a multi. Get down the field and have a few practice casts and retrieves.

start slow and steady, feeding the line from side to side with your thumb, avoid creating humps and bumps and keep tension on the line, after a while with practice this will become second nature to you.

another tip when laying the line is make sure youre thumb isnt 2 close 2 reel when retreiving as this makes it harder 2 lay it even which can cause the frustrating birdsnest best of luck :D

and most important is to leave the shockleader knot to either side of the spool to stop it hitting your thumb during cast
