Just wondering what ye use for bait clips? I've been using the below, but would appreciate any other suggestions?
Thanks John

I like to use the breakaway impact leads. If using more then one hook i would use a cascade swivel with it!

If ya have any old small hooks (size 4 -2) just nip the top off with a pliers. Bit of tubing and sorted.

i use the breakaway imps. their foolproof and never had one not release. the odd time im out of the imps i use them relay clips but i find them better it you clip a little bit off and give it a rub of a file to get it smooth again

I use the gemini genie rig clips for my pulley rigs and my up and overs. There are probably better options but i like the simple approach/lazy approach. Haven't had any problems with my set up yet.

I use the same as yourself (Relay Clips) and find they work perfectly well for me.

Thanks for the replies folks, will try some of these out. The reason I ask is that sometimes after reeling in the snood line is wrapped around the relay clip and I'm thinking this effects the presentation/movement of the bait in the water? .......I know, I know, I'm digging the bottom of the barrel on excuses for all those blanks

to be honest they are not the best. i would look at alternatives such as impact leads or impact shields with cascade swivels.

Cascade swivels and an impact shield on the bottom. I also use the Gemini ABC clips for the bottom hook if not using an impact lead. Have had no probs with either of these set ups.

i have one kind that is clear plastic and can be added or removed as required very similar to the breakaway but fiddly to put on

i use imps most of the time if you are getting alot of tangles in the surf use shorter snoods it might help, also good bait presentation should stop snoods from spinning in the current, big crab baits in the surf can be a nightmare for this keep em as streamline as possible

The breakaway products are by far the best.

i use the gemini rig clip at the end of my rig, attach that to a impact lead, ive found that if you loose the bottom hook and have to retie a hook onto the snood it clips into the gemni clip, (as the snood is shorter)

i used the ones you have pictured quite a few times on my rigs found them to be ok,altho sometimes they dont release,if im sending baits as far as possible its deffo got to be a cascabe swivel i use
