Near where i go on holidays, a pier has loads of mullet. I'm heading there on Wed and would love to catch one
Any tips? what lure should i use? I was just going to drop small balls of bread and one with a hook in it or is this just wasting my time?
thanks
Its from the pier, NOT the boat

Depends on what type of mullet they are if thick lipped go for bread getting them to feed is hard though, try a baited spinner like a small mepps if there are any thin lipped or golden greys there they'll go for the spinner tip it with rag, hope this helps!

I doubt there will be any thin lipped, but heres the rule of thumb " get them Feeding "
Get ground baiting, by using bread and mackeral, size 8 hook, bubble float and alot of patience!
Also to keep the seaguls away try and get someone to feed them further along the peir!

Thats good info will try it this weekend in Dundrum Bay. I was told that Sugar Puffs were good for Mullet, sounds dodgy to me.

You'd be surprised at how many thin lips can shoal with thick lips theres a lot more of them around than people think
