I have had that problem before, hot water i would guess would make it stick more, try fairy liquid or somthing like that in the join and twist as you pull it should come appart

use two people, dry the rod, put on dry rubber gloves, each grab one part near the join, twist in opposite directions, TA DA!!!!! your rod is now free.

apply a freezer pack to the spigot

Another good one is to stand somewhere with lots of space around you, put the rod behind your knees, grab either side of the spigot touching your hands to either side of your knees and then slowly stretch your knees apart, you can get really good power into the small area of the spigot. It's always worked for me in the end.

Thanks for all your answers, but nothing has worked (somebody must have put a spell on me today...)...So I have called Henry's tackle (as he is the Grey dealer for Dublin...) and he said me to bring it to him. So imagine tomorrow a guy with a 13 ft rod in a fiat punto, driving from Malahide to Dublin.....
Thanks again....

Quick spray of WD40 on the joint and stand the rod so it can work its way in to the joint for a while. Then try an ice pack on spigot side and heat on the other. Worked for me. Give it a very light sanding with wet n' dry paper (at least P600) and dust with graphite powder to prevent a recurrence.

best of luck

APPLY WD40 TO THE JOINT,Get two basins or tubs, one with ice water and one with boiling water,Place the basins together, place the rod on top with the female end over the cold water and the male end over the hot water, soak a tea towel in each basin over the rod with both ends of the towels in the water ,leave for 2 min then it should come out,Thats how I seperated my almost welded boat rod.

if you get it apart dry it after every session and clean it. if it is damp the two bit stick together like theyve been glue together with super glue.

i've had the same problem with my pole when ive been coarse fishing

Thanks for all this tips....
So I've bring my rod to Henry's tackle (was very funny, the rod was longer than the car, so imagine people seeing this strange team driving to Dublin  ).... For my luck Grey's have accepted to take it under the guarantee...Henry was very kind and he has handle all the situation, cut it in two, send it back to Grey's and I think I'll received a new rod this week now....
I didn't know there was a tackle shop there, so I was buying my stuff in England, France and in a few shops around... But I was found Henry's tackle shop at the top so he has won two customers (me and my brother...)...
Grey's send me an e-mail telling me that the two parts have been pushed to far together (I have not pushed the part very strong so I was very upset :x , this was my first Grey, I usually fish with sheakspeare rods and never have this problem)... But the after sale service and the guarantee seems to work very well, and I think Henry's has played his role in the solution...
Where I was very upset is that no tips have worked I 've tried almost everything   ... So I'll be very carefull with any new rod from any brand...
So for for people who are looking around Dublin for a very good tackle shop, go to Henry's...

I will tell you all a little story about a jammed rod, a Zziplex rod.....a friend of mine Con who is from Ireland but has lived in the US for over 20 years, he is a top tournament caster and knows as much as anyone about rods got one of his Zziplex tournament rods stuck together, it remained like that for about 3 years, he tried everything in the book to try and free the bugger and nothing worked. He took it to a casting meet (traveling around over there with a 13ft or 14ft rod is not such a problem like over here) and just happend to show it to another caster, Tommy Farmer no less and asked the question "what do you think is wrong with this" Tommy took the rod twisted and pulled the two pieces apart as anyone would do normally and asked Con "what am I looking for" Con just took the rod from him and walked away laughing!
