hi phily here,
myself and my father do alot of beach fishing all around the south coast. we buy alot of fresh rag and lug but they dont seem to last more than a few days. any hints and tips to help keep the worms alive would be very much appricated. one more thing is it possible to get a greys triplex re-rung for fixed spool use? the auld lad wont try it with the multiplier!

I tip I learnt is that in the medium term (2-3 days) keeping rag in the fridge works OK with the plastic boxes that rag comes in. The family may not like it though.

Longer term take the rag out of the plastic boxes and create packages using old newspapers. Get rid of the sand and put fresh bladderwrack or similar seaweed in the packages instead. In go the rag. Check every couple of days and throw out broken worms, and sprinkle fresh seawater over the package. Should keep for a week or so.

Lug - really doesn't keep well for more than a day or so after digging in my opinion. Lug jam results...
