Newbie question...baits in estuaries

Tue Feb 12, 2008 7:13 pm

Hello all,,,,
Being a newbie to bait fishing i need a question answered,,,
I've recently been told that fishing in some estuaries NOT to use a grip lead and instead use a lead that can drift the bait around...sounds logical...
My question being,,,I presume you don't have the bail arm open????Otherwise how would you feel bites??? And I'm sure the strong tides would have the bait out to sea fairly fast???
I know this is probably a stupid question but i just want to make sure...
Could someone fill me in on the correct technique...
Thanks....
Yours in ignorance,

what i use is a round lead/running free above the swivel, if the tide is running to your right cast to your left and the current will roll your lead and bait around. it works for me.good luck..ps keep bailarm on.
