recently moved my fishing log to google earth. can still add as much detail as i would like but has the added benefit that i can mark off very specific marks that i wouldnt be able to otherwise remember the exact location of

how mate, some of us dont spend all day with computers :roll:

i use ths method also, its a great way for specific marking,i use it too show customers and those tourists looking a good days angling.

its one heck off a download though,but very worth it

give me a handy road map anyday, i use that for fishing marks and attach info on ech mark on the back page

We also have the problem that large sections of the Irish coastline are not up on Google earth yet.

typical, though the version i have seems to pretty much have everywere covered, though not in super detail..it still enable almost decent acuracy for placing your marks
have you tried downloading the latest version

some of the images of some of the more remote marks are a bit blury but generally i would say about 80% of my marks are pretty clear, even to the extent of seeing tiny features on a beach such as trickles of water or boulders.

MC,

what i do is put a place marker (the big yellow pin) on the specific peg that i fished or as near as i can get to it.

heres an example of inch strand in east cork.

if i double click on the pins i can see all the notes that i have added on that specific mark.

ive noticed there are only certain areas of the map on ireland that have a good quality zoom picture, the rest is blurred, but sure as long as you know it yourself and have the approx area marked it still does the job
