on the nite we had 20 we also got dogs, coddling, pollock, coalies, flounders
the fishing started to get very good from midnite on the 16th.

the days of both new and full moon are the best days.
the times each day of moon rise, transit and set are the best times.
the days of first and last quarter are good days for fewer bigger fish.

Or look at the tide charts... biggest tide equals new or full moon.

biggest tides usually fall 2 - 3 days after new and full moons not on the day of the moon itself

Errr... lads, isn't there a bass closed season?????

Thu Apr 19, 2007 10:26 pm

Whats a Bass??? :?

Only kidding :D :D - there are more than Bass in the sea and (correct me if i'm wrong but) they can be returned if you catch them - thats not against the law of the closed season??
Its only illegal to target/keep Bass in the closed season. (thats what the poster in my local tackle shop says anyway

Anyone know anything different??

Here's a moon chart worth looking at http://www.angelfire.com/sports/huntfishmaui/moon.html

at the bottom of the chart see the fishing link, click on it and see some awesome shore caught fish.
