Thanks for that Cortaz, it's gold. The morning forecast for Sunday is dire alright, but it's supposed to clear up in the afternoon. May mean digging lug in the pissing rain, but what's new ...
I'll give the razor a go as well too and see what happens. With any luck I'll have something to report.
In the meantime, see below for a pic of a bass I caught a week or two back. Had no weighing scales and let him go after I caught him, so I couldn't put a proper size on him, but the scabbard is 9 inches long for scale. Caught him on a light spinning rod with a 1/0 baited with mackerel so it was a struggle. A fluke, methinks ...
Thanks again,
Lodore

hey Art, i fished last night 31st, and got a bass on my second cast just on the full tide.
an hour +++ into the drop i missed a couple of hard bites due to me needing to roll a smoke
but i think it was more like me turning my head to the rattle of fireworks more than the rattle of my rod!! anyway there were two codling to follow and that was it!
one bass up here is a good session
looking forward to a few nights this week!

Cortaz, which program do you use to get the moon and suns info? I use moonphase, and its telling me that the 17th november is a new moon and is a brilliant day to fish. Thats 2 days after your prediction? I take it night time would be better on dates predicted for good fishing.

arron, the new moonis on the 16th.???, both my personal catches and the combined catches of site members highlite the 24hours leading up to the exact time each month of of the new moon as bring the single best time each month, in the hours and days theres a huge dropoff in catches..
i ues U.S. naval observeatory.

So every month on the hours leading up to new moon and a few hours after the fishing is good.
And this goes on for a few days after with catches getting less???

Hi all, would I be right in saying that the best days in Jan 10 are: 6th, 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 29th, 30th (the best) and 31st? Thats what my fishing calender app for my ipod says. Do you think this is accurate?

howdy art, remember the way you were saying about the fall off in bass feeding the day after new or full moon does the exact same happen in any data you have for winter fishing despite there being fewer fish around

this sunday the 28th. F.M. @16.40...SS @18.10..MR@18.20.
theres few of us fishin a local surf beach sunday from 3.30/7.30pm. we shoud get 6/10 bass to at least 5lb.i would expect 50% of the catch to be taken between 5.30/6.30and the biggest fish to be taken in the hour after this,as the tide will have reached the head of the beach the depth will have incressed to 3/5ft.the heavys

will be movin in to within 10 meter of the shingle, as the smaller 1 will have moved on or maybe they have just risen in the water coloum
