Re: Forceps

Artery forceps are very useful alright but for certain situations, I used to use them for my pike fishing and found them great for unhooking deeply hooked fish due to the fact that they're longer and narrower than my long nosed pliers and hence easier to get into the awkward spots. My pair has since migrated into my lure fishing bag and I find it equally useful for removing lures which have been taken deeply but I find sometimes the extra strength of a pair of long nosed pliers is also useful, so I usually carry both. I use for different tools for different fish and different types of fishing, I generally always have a long nose pliers of some description with me and invariably a rusted pair, in addition to that with my bait fishing gear I also carry a Gemini disgorger for dogs etc and a course fishing disgorger for deeply hooked minis and of course in my lure fishing bag the artery forceps. They all have their uses.
