next up were the spudog on a deep water mark in early march of the antrim coast with 5 landed in the one day (can only claim 3 as per specimen fish committe rules)
May time saw the annual shad migration (anglers as well as fish) and this was to prove a bumper year for specimens with 4 landed over the space of a few days. not only good fishing but the craic was good at the campsite with some fine food and good company.
mid june saw me getting my one and only speci mullet of the year, spent alot of time trying out new marks away from the more popular spots such as comber due the place being like mackie basher heaven!july august and sept were lean months due to work commitments but I still managed a few sessions on the boat trying for doggies and was rewarded with this beauty at 3lb 7oz
but the real highlight of the year came with my speci Ballan, to many years of trying and god knows how much money spent on lead weights. my first Wrasse fishing session of the year produced the Ballan of my dreams right on the weight of 4lb 12oz I was one happy angler.
