Rush Co. Dublin 07.07.2020

Tue Jul 07, 2020 6:35 pm

When: 07/07/2020
Where: Launching from Rush, Co. Dublin
Who: Myself and my uncle.
Duration: 10:00-15:00
High Water: 13:44
Equipment: 7.5ft Shakespeare Ugly Stik 2 30/50lb
Bait/Rig: 5 hook pollock basher rig with size 3/0 hooks and 9oz lead.
Conditions: Water was flat calm going out with a bit of drizzle. The wind, swell and rain picking up as the day went on.
Result: 4 Pollock & 3 Mackerel

My second day out on the boat launching from Rush, we didn't bother going to an anchor mark as visibility was poor, instead we hit some reefy areas and I caught 4 pollock and 3 mackerel. My uncle only caught 1 tiny pollock too small to eat so he was a bit annoyed  When I got home I made some really nice lemon pepper seasoned golden breadcrumb coating for the pollock and also had some new rush queens to make fresh homemade chips :D

Cheers, yeah the pollock on it's own can be fairly bland but I think is really nice in batter or breadcrumbs!

More reports to come and hopefully with much bigger fish! :)
