Newish to lure fishing!

Postby doublebubble » Tue Jun 04, 2019 7:04 pm

Hello Folk

This week I have spent a few hundred on new rod reel lures. i know how to lure fish as I have tried it before but not caught yet.
I am not concerned about that as I have been fishing years on the bait and have had plenty of bass pollock cod ect.
I reckon i have had the wrong tackle before for the lure fishing and hopefully now I am ready for this new challenge!

I am going to Kerry on my hols in july and I will be bringing the new gear. Could I ask any of you for any locations that may i could be in with a shout or even areas to avoid.

Any advice would be great. I am from Dublin and hope to get out to Dun Laoghaire to get a few casts in beforehand as In Dublin I dont think there is too many decent spots to fish!!

Kerry is a big place, could you be more specific and people could help?
Also, use the search facility on the top RHS to search for old reports on specific venue, e.g. Dingle Harbour, Banna Strand...

Hope you had a good trip, I was down that direction for the first time myself a couple of weeks back. Absolutely beautiful coastline and mountains too. Blanked on most of my lure fishing but did catch (and very quickly release) my first ever stingray.
