hi all just bought meself a light lure rod to see what all the fuss is about catching bass on light gear ,braid, and surface lures , my question is do you all tie your braid directly to swivell and then lure or do you use a leader before the swivell cheers

Jacko
I never use a swivel. Always use the Albright knot.

You should try the fg knot, even better than the Albright.

Some people (including me) use a relatively short length of fluorocarbon leader ahead of the braid especially if the braid is very coloured. It's useful in rocky ground where the braid will slowly degrade over time as it comes into contact with barnacles and the like, and if it gives me 2% extra chance of finding a bass in Mayo, then I'll take it!
