Lure fishing in Kerry this weekend

I'm heading to Kenmare for the weekend with the missus. Given the recent weather, am I wasting my time packing the lure fishing gear?
We'll be travelling all over south & west Kerry, from Castletownbere to Waterville to Dingle.

Before anybody gets upset, I know Castletownbere is in Cork!

I'd say you have more chance with a lure than you would with bait considering the wind direction because you have more chance of a take just because that a fish will react on instinct more than to a bait in these conditions so good luck.

How did you get on in the end ?

I'll be honest with you, I spent about 10 mins attempting some LRF off Dunquin Pier, and that was it. It was cold and I had an impatient missus in the car. Travelled all around Kerry though, and saw some great looking spots that I would love to try in the summer. Derrynane & Caherdaniel chief among them. Now just roll on some decent weather, I'm really itching to get started!!!!!

I know that impatience alright !! At least you have your recce done for the next time I'll be heading to West Kerry with the lures on the May bank holiday weekend, Hope the weather does us a favours between now and then
