Buying new spinning rod - advice needed

Mon Oct 15, 2012 11:14 am

Hello everybody,

I just recently (10 days ago) moved to ireland and i hope to buy a new spinning rod soon as i left my old gear back at my home country, Israel.

Back in Israel i was using Major Craft Crostage Sea Bass 9" 7-23g casting weight regular fast, as i took a look in a few shops in Cork, which is were i am based, i couldnt find a lot of the brands i am familliar with...

Can you please recommend me a rod with a samilliar attributes? i will get it atached with a 3000-4000 size shimano reel.
(my budget will be up to 100euro, could stretch a bit if it's not enough)

Most of my fishing will be from the rocks and the beach using mostly soft plastics with 1/4 to 1/2 oz. jig heads and some minnow lures, of course i will be open to try any new local methods as i know each place has its own secrets.

Thanks,
Omer

Ohh....and a few fishing spots reccomendations will be nice as well

10x Sandblaster, although i think the vendetta is a bit heavy for me, the heaviest lure i'll be using would probably be 1 1oz. wobbler, most of my fishing will be with sp's so im looking for something a bit more sensitive...but i will give the vendetta a look just to feel it in my hands :)

thanks for the link as the rod recommendation as well...

If you left your Major Craft rod behind and want another quality Japanese bass rod the Major Craft rods have recently arrived in the UK for example Art of Fishing stock them. Also Lure Heaven import the Graphiteleader rods. Both of these stores will ship to Ireland.

If you can stretch to it a Grauvell Teknos 802ml or the 832m are both worth a look at. Great rods and good value.
