I'm open to correction but...

While you'll catch small pollack almost anywhere the water meets the shore in Cork, deepwater rock marks that might hold a better stamp of fish are a little harder to come by without heading a good distance from the city.

Beara is pollack heaven but it's a trek. Closer to home there are access issues around a lot of marks, e.g. the Old Head but also the fact that deep water pollack marks are often cliff territory and just inaccessible or too off the beaten track to be 'marks'
.
I think people tend to keep good rock marks close to their chest.

If I were you I would be buying an Ordnance Survey map and putting in the legwork, finding any headland fishing into deep water with access from the shore, you're then in as good a position as any. West of the city I'd go for the Seven Heads .first of all, I'm not familiar with the east but maybe Power Head?

I've fished Galley head but only caught small fish... access to the point again an issue.

This is what I've found over a couple of years anyway... small pollack are almost impossible not to catch from almost anywhere to fish in Cork, the big girls take a bit more finding.
