Dublin to greystones spinning

Thu Feb 09, 2012 11:17 pm

Am just after getting my first spinning setup (Mike Ladle surepin MK11 + a Shimano Stradic 4000) and I hope to get out this weekend to give it a bash. Was just wondering what would be knocking around this time of the year and if anyone had any pointers for someone who is brand new to lure fishing. Was thinking of heading to one of the more well known spots for spinning like Whiterock or Ballygannon, would these spots be worth a shout? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Very unlikely to get a bass maybe a pollock but worth a shot for the sea trout ;-)

Heard Greystones can be worth a shot for them alright.Any idea if there's anything to target from the rock marks around Dun Laoghaire,Dalkey or Whiterock?Seen a few spots that look like they have all the right signs.

Ah I've just noticed this now, thanks for the plug Jim. I know LRF (light rock fishing) might not be everyone's cup of tea but I'm certainly enjoying it.

Hope the rod and reel is working out for you Tim and I'm sure I'll see you out and about soon enough.

Tight lines,
