Has anybody tried the Fladen CONRAD BASSHUNTER sea fishing lures- site below. If so are they anygood

Has anybody tried any of these artificial sand eels for bass fishing/

Alternatively any lure recommendations for bass fishing - note for a beginner/novice?

Hi mate,

Judging by the lack of replies I'd say not too many people are familiar with that lure.

Most people would probably advise you to stick to the lures that have been tried and tested around Irish and UK waters, there are plenty to choose from that are proven bass catchers across all variety of conditions before you start looking at the latest fad in the US or wherever.

As regards lure selection for a beginner, there is some very good and straightforward advice on the below link.

Ive used them when fishing deep water off rocks, caught a few pollack with it and my son too floating one

Thanks the for feedback. You're probably right. Have used live sand eels or thin strips of mackarel belly for turbot fishing before with some success. I was just curious to see if the US Bass feeding habits might be similar to the ones here. Think there plenty other local rigs one can use for pollack - they're not that fussy.

Yeah I make a point of re-reading it any time I am tempted to spend €29.50 on a lure and that usually cures it for a while.
